WHAT IS THE ARKANSAS FULL TABLE FUND?
Arkansas Full Table Fund supports systems-level solutions that help every Arkansan get the food they need.
HOW DID THE ARKANSAS FULL TABLE FUND GET STARTED?
In 2025, Arkansas Community Foundation convened community members and statewide stakeholders to discuss solutions for food insecurity. The result of those conversations and focus groups was a Community-Sourced Interventions report, which informed a framework for Arkansas Full Table Fund.
Arkansas Full Table Fund is supported through a grant provided by Walmart.org. The program is implemented and administered by Arkansas Community Foundation. Additional funders include Cargill.
WHAT WILL THE ARKANSAS FULL TABLE FUND BE USED FOR?
Arkansas Community Foundation will open a $10 million grant program on October 1, 2026. Grant applications for nonprofit organizations are available in three categories:
- Advocate—Raise participation rates and access to federal nutrition programs
- Strengthen—Improve the charitable food system’s efficiency, infrastructure, and capacity to reach more people
- Innovate—Test community-driven ideas
The specific activities that grantee organizations undertake as part of this initiative should be directed by their deep connection to, and understanding of, food insecurity. Funded projects must address at least one dimension of food security and at least one stage of the hunger continuum, while incorporating sustainable approaches that address policy and systems change.
WHO CAN APPLY FOR ARKANSAS FULL TABLE FUND GRANTS?
We are primarily looking for Arkansas-based 501(c)(3) organizations, or hospitals, government entities, and/or educational institutions (e.g., schools and universities) that have a demonstrated track record working within the areas of food insecurity, nutrition, healthy food access, food systems, and/or related topics. WHAT TYPES OF PROJECTS WILL BE FUNDED?
We are primarily looking to fund sustainable solutions that address policy- and/or systems-level issues with the goal of promoting food security and healthy food access. See the RFA for more information.
IF MY PROJECT FOCUSES ON STATE AND/OR FEDERAL NUTRITION ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS, WHICH ARE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS FUNDING OPPORTUNITY?
While the RFA prioritized SNAP, WIC, and the SFSP, other similar state and federal nutrition assistance programs are also eligible as long as sufficient rationale is provided in the proposal.
CAN WE APPLY FOR MORE THAN ONE GRANT CATEGORY? FOR EXAMPLE, CAN I APPLY FOR A PILOT PROJECT FROM BOTH THE ADVOCACY FUND AND STRENGTHEN FUND?
Yes, you can. You may apply for funding up to the maximum amount listed for each fund. In the application there will be a box to indicate which funds you would like to apply under, and you can check more than one. You will be asked to provide a narrative and budget for work executed under each fund. Each organization is eligible to apply as a lead for one project in each fund type.
CAN WE PARTNER WITH OTHER ORGANIZATIONS TO APPLY FOR A GRANT?
Yes, you can. An application with underlying partnerships is considered a strong application. The organization applying will be considered a lead partner and organizations listed as partners can still apply as a lead applicant on another application.
DOES THE LEAD ORGANIZATION NEED TO BE BASED IN ARKANSAS?
Yes. The lead organization must have a documented physical presence in Arkansas and a history of conducting relevant activities in the state. Sub-awards, consultants, and other partners are not required to be based in Arkansas, assuming they satisfy other eligibility criteria as listed in the RFA.

I AM A NONPROFIT. WHAT ARE THE GRANT REQUIREMENTS?
When you apply, we’ll ask you to share more about your organization’s:
- Board and staff information
- Most recent audit (if applicable), organization’s operating budget, and IRS Form 990
- Proposed use of funding, including a detailed description of your workplan
- Track record of outreach to the communities you will target with grant funding
- Plan for measuring success
- Proposed budget for this grant project
WHO DETERMINES WHICH NONPROFITS RECEIVES GRANTS?
An advisory team of food security leaders from Arkansas will review proposals and select grant recipients. All grants are administered by Arkansas Community Foundation.

AM I REQUIRED TO SUBMIT A NOTICE OF INTENT (NOI) TO APPLY TO BE ELIGIBLE?
It is not required, but strongly encouraged. Submitting an NOI helps us plan ahead for the number of applications we may receive (please submit as soon as you know you will apply and on or before November 23).
WHAT SUPPORT WILL GRANTEES RECEIVE BESIDES FUNDING?
Grantees will have access to evaluation technical assistance to support project evaluation activities and reporting requirements. Also, a learning collaborative will be established to allow all grantees learn from each other and outside experts.
