Arkansas Community Foundation of Greene County

Arkansas Community Foundation of Greene County was founded in the late 1990’s by a group of community leaders to meet the needs of philanthropic-minded individuals. The Greene County Affiliate has continued to grow over the last 25 years to become a thriving community organization serving over 75 fund holders and distributing significant funding to increase the quality of life in the county.

The Foundation has tools to assist businesses and families in smart philanthropic giving through charitable funds and endowments. We are truly blessed in Greene County to have this gem of an organization available to our citizens, overseen by a volunteer board of directors and administered by a local Executive Director.

Local Scholarships Available for Greene County Students

The Greene County Affiliate has 40 established scholarship endowments that support students from our area. Greene County is known for its efforts to support the education endeavors of graduating high school students. None of this would be possible without the hard work and generosity of our founding affiliate members like the late Evangeline Cothern, who worked tirelessly encouraging families and businesses to establish scholarship endowments so our high school seniors could advance in their education with help from our community.    In 2025, scholarships were awarded totaling approximately $120,000.

Greene County Women Making a Difference

The 21st Century Women’s Endowment was established in 2003 and is the brainchild of Mary Ann Allen and other visionary women in our community to make grants to deserving nonprofit organizations in our county. Mary Ann Allen currently serves as a Greene County Affiliate board member and a founding member of the women’s endowment.  Joining the 21st Century Women’s Endowment with a one-time gift is an excellent way for women to make a difference and have a voice in meeting the needs of our county and community. If you are interested in joining this group of visionary women, contact Kerri Watson, Executive Director at 870-290-3170 or greenecounty@ARCF.org for more information.
