Arkansas Service Memorial Scholarship

The four year Arkansas Service Memorial Scholarship awarded to Lincoln Dias in 2001 has been a good investment, paying dividends for the children of Arkansas.  We recently received a note of thanks from Lincoln:

In 1985, when I was two years old, my father, Clifford Dias, died in an accident while working for the United States Forest Service.  Upon graduation from Perryville High School in 2001, I received the Arkansas Service Memorial Scholarship.  I attended Crowley’s Ridge College and Harding University and graduated in 2005 with a degree in Secondary Social Science.  I have taught History on the high school level, and currently am an Elementary School Counselor at Des Arc Elementary.  I will finish my Masters of Science in counseling at Harding University in the spring of 2008.  I am deeply grateful for the support from the Arkansas Service Memorial Scholarship in reaching my goal to become a teacher.  It was one of my father’s goals for his children to be able to attend college, and the scholarship helped me to reach this goal.
