The Sharp County Community Foundation was officially formed on April 4th, 2007. 

As an Affiliate of the ARCF, the Sharp County Community Foundation (SCCF) is eligible to participate in the WRF ALPHA Initiative program. 

The Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation (WRF) awarded the Arkansas Community Foundation a grant of $2,550,000 to establish an endowment.  One of the purposes of the endowment is to support ARCF Affiliate community foundations such as SCCF.  Even though they are a newly formed Affiliate, they are eligible for an equal share of the funds available this fiscal year which ends on June 30, 2007. 

The eligibility requirement is for SCCF to develop a $20,000 operating endowment by June 30, 2007. To date they have raised $5500 and have seven weeks to raise the additional $15,000.

The award to the Affiliates vary each year, but last year it was $6,806 for each of the Affiliates that met the challenge. 

The board members are committed to meeting the challenge. They have a vision of establishing the Sharp CCF Grantmaking Endowment with the award money.  This fund will be unrestricted and at the discretion of the SCCF board members in determining where the annual community grants will be awarded.

The 9-member board listed below is a group of enthusiastic community leaders committed to encouraging philanthropy in Sharp County by promoting the establishment of endowments to benefit worthwhile causes in the community in perpetuity.
