Janet Rider-Babbitt, Executive Director |
In 1999, The Columbia County Community Foundation was established as a result of discussions on historic preservation projects in the area. From the beginning conversation on how to restore and maintain the county courthouse, the desire to invest in the future of the community was apparent among the board. Now Columbia County has a vehicle through which her citizens can choose to do good that will last forever. The Foundation can help make lasting gifts to the donors' favorite charitable causes. In addition, the board works to give grants to organizations and groups that work to improve our community. A gift to Columbia County Community Foundation benefits everyone who gives and everyone who lives in Columbia County. The community foundation’s assets total $1.1 million and has given more than $50,000 to 25 non-profit organizations.

Who is a donor?
Who is a donor? It is anyone, young or old; of great means, or someone who just has an allowance to spend; it is a person who has spent a lifetime in Columbia County, or someone we've just adopted into the community.
Give in memory of a loved one, give in honor of your mom to commemorate Mother's Day, give in honor of your daughter's birthday, give to support your dad's favorite charity or project. Give to teach your children philanthropy. Give to make your community greater than it is.
