Grantmaking Story

The main objective of this grant is to assist students and families in meeting their basic needs through the “CARE” (Central Attempting to Reach Everyone) Account. Children come to school hungry, cold, without proper clothing, and in need of basic supplies. The lack of proper nutrition and clothing often gets in the way of the children being successful in the school setting. As the school counselor, I am in the position to identify the difficulties and barriers that the children may be experiencing that hinder or interfere with their ability to be successful in school.
Without the CARE account I would have to depend on churches, teachers, and friends to meet the needs of the children at Central. The CARE account allows me to meet these needs instantly and within the school setting.
