YAC Service Project Benefits the Peerless Beeman Fund

To raise funds for the Peerless Beeman fund, Youth Advisory Council (YAC) members Donny St. Martin, Chelsea Lurker, Renea Murry and Johnessa Belcher decorated hundreds of carnations with school colored ribbons and shamrocks at a work party at Lamar High School.  Paralyzed by an illness, five-year old Peerless needs surgery which can possibly restore his ability to walk. The decorated carnations were available for donations at Clarksville and Lamar High Schools, and $409 was developed in the fund-raisers.  During the April 27, 2006, YAC Grant Awards Ceremony, a check was presented to Vice President Kevin Wish, First Arkansas Valley Bank, for the Peerless Beeman fund.

Open to 8th through 12 grade students, YAC is sponsored by the Johnson County Community Foundation so that our youth can learn about philanthropy and make grants to youth and children’s causes in Johnson County.  Membership is free; and if you are interested in joining, contact YAC Advisors Bryan Robinson or Melody Reasoner at 754-5842.
