An Arkansas Community Foundation Local Affiliate Office

Johnson County Community Foundation (JCCF) makes grants to help improve the quality of life in our community. Since its inception in 2001, JCCF has made more than $162,000 in grants to support local causes.

Previous grantees include:

ARTS AND HUMANITIES GRANTS:

Clarksville Children's Company at the University of the Ozarks-A $500 grant to produce "The Diviner" play.  Forty children (6th - 12th grades) participate in this free theater opportunity.

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT GRANTS:

  • Johnson County Sr. Activity Center-A $500 grant to help purchase a convection oven.  More than 55,000 home delivery, elder choice and congregate meals will be served this year.
  • Lamar City Council-A $500 grant to purchase a playhouse for the Lamar City "Field of Dreams" park.
  • Mustard Seed Ministries-A $350 grant to purchase a cash register.

EDUCATION GRANTS:

  • Clarksville Jr. High School-A $500 grant to bring poet laureate Clayton Scott to the Jr. High for a week-long poetry project.
  • Clarksville School District $1500-A grant to purchase recycle reminders and support "Trashbusters Education Project" curriculum which teaches the importance of protecting natural resources and recycling.
  • Kraus Middle School-A $500 grant to support the "Ark Science Exploration Summer Camp."  Five teachers volunteer their time for this program.

HEALTH AND SAFETY GRANTS:

  • Ozark Rape Crisis Center-A $1200 grant to keep the crisis hotline open, which allows victims of sexual/domestic violence access to information from trained advocates.

HISTORIC PRESERVATION GRANTS:

  • Ozone Community Building-A $500 grant to replace/repair kitchen and dining room floors.
  • Woodland Community Building-A $500 grant to purchase a new door.

HUMAN SERVICES GRANTS:

  • Clarksville Lions Club-A $500 grant for the Lions' Club Organ Donor/Sight Program that provides eye glasses and encourages organ donors to donate corneas. 
  • Forrester Davis Development Center-A  $1500 grant to purchase a lead stripper so adults in the MAC sheltered workshop can fulfill Baldor contracts. 
  • University of the Ozarks Christmas Angels Project-A $600 grant to purchase clothing and toys for children/youth at Christmas time.

SCHOLARSHIPS:

  • J.C. Single Parent Scholarship Fund-A $600 grant for single parent scholarships.  Funds will be matched by State funds.
NEXT GRANT PERIOD:  January 10, 2009--Grant Applications Available. February 15, 2009--Proposal Deadline. Grants Awarded April 2009.  On-line applications will be available.
