Since 2002, members of Arkansas Community Foundation's Youth Advisory Councils (YAC) have given more than $350,000 to charitable causes benefitting children and youth.
A Youth Advisory Council is a group of teens who work together to raise money for their own charitable endowment. They use the proceeds from the endowment to make grants to local nonprofit organizations serving children and youth.
YACs meet throughout the year to learn about philanthropy, raise money and give away grants to meet needs in their counties. Lots of YAC groups also enjoy volunteering together and conducting surveys to learn about the local charitable causes that are most important to their peers.
If you're interested in giving back to your community, we'd love to have you join us! We've got YAC groups in all of the communities listed below. Each YAC is connected with the Arkansas Community Foundation affiliate office in its service area. To get connected with your local YAC, contact the Community Foundation affiliate nearest you.

"One of the biggest needs in our community is to help people who are in poverty, and I feel like [the YAC program] can help those people."
