Giving Tree Endowments Respond to Local Needs
Arkansas Community Foundation helps individuals, families and organizations create charitable funds and endowments to benefit their favorite causes. But did you know we also have a way for you to give to causes affecting your community that you might not even know about?
Through our Giving Tree Endowments, Arkansans can pool their dollars in a shared fund that makes annual grants to dozens of local causes. Each of our 27 affiliates has its own local Giving Tree Endowment, as does our central office in Little Rock. Committees of local leaders in each of our affiliate communities select the organizations that receive grants each year, through a competitive application process. That means you can be confident that people with an intimate knowledge of your community and its needs will ensure your gift is used wisely, even after your lifetime.
Is a Foundation-Directed Gift Right for You?

We classify our Giving Tree Endowments as "foundation-directed" because our staff and volunteer advisory committees "direct" the grants; that is, they decide which organizations will receive grant funding from the endowment each year.
Making a foundation-directed gift to your local Giving Tree Endowment might be right for you if:
- You want to ensure that your funds are used to support a wide variety of causes based on the most pressing needs at the time.
- You want to give back to your community through a gift that is flexible enough to support dozens of local charities.
- You're focused on the future of your community and want to provide funding for needs you may not even be aware of right now.
