Russellville, ARK (April 10th, 2013) – Pope County Community Foundation, a local office of Arkansas Community Foundation (ARCF), announced $23,000.00 in Giving Tree Grants for nonprofits in Pope County. The grant awards were presented at the Donor Appreciation Reception on April 4th at River Valley Arts Center in Russellville.
Donors of Pope County Community Foundation (PCCF), recipients of the 2013 Giving Tree Grants, the board of directors of PCCF, and guests, were in attendance as the grant recipients were recognized. Linda Carnahan, chairman of the board, spoke about the foundation, how the grants impact the community, and how to be involved.
“We appreciate all of the applicants,” said Madelyn Ginsberg, Executive Director. “The board made some tough decisions on which non-profits to fund with the grants. We tried to focus on where the grants would make the biggest impact”.
“Our Giving Tree program helps Arkansans support a variety of important needs in their own home towns,” said ARCF President and CEO Heather Larkin. “Funding for our Giving Tree grants comes from local individuals and families. We invest their donations in endowments that provide a permanent source of funding for charitable causes in our communities.”
