Since its inception in 2001, Johnson County Community Foundation (JCCF) has granted more than $263,400 to support local causes, nonprofits and programs that positively impact our community. JCCF grants improve the quality of life for the citizens of Johnson County.  Individuals and groups have established 40 endowments that make yearly grants benefitting local nonprofits and programs of the donors’ choosing.

JCCF 2011 Giving Tree Grants


  • $1000    Ark Rice Depot, Inc. grant supports the “Food for Kids’ program in Johnson County.
  • $750       Art Waves grant in partnership with the US Forest Service–purchases awards and art supplies for winners of the Ozark Woodland Life Art Challenge, designed to teach K-12 students about the importance of forest health. 
  • $500       The Call – Foster Care Recruitment grant purchases clothing for the care closet that is to be donated to foster children.
  •  $750       Clarksville High School grant purchases bedding plants and supplies to expand the high school horticulture program.
  • $1000    Clarksville Jr. High School grant brings Poet Laureate Clayton Scott to the Jr. High for a week of  writing poetry, which culminates in a poetry slam.  Winners of the poetry slam recite their original                 poems at the civic groups.
  • $600       Clarksville Jr. High School grant upgrades and refurbishes the Baby Think It Over Program that encourages abstinence
  • $1000    Clarksville Lions Club grant purchases vouchers for eye/hearing exams and glasses and hearing aids for low income residents of Johnson County.
  • $520       Clarksville School District grant purchases audio visual equipment to support the Peace 4 Kids University an alternative school program for “at risk” students.
  • $530       Forrester Davis Development Center grant purchases carbon monoxide detectors for the Daycare as required by DHS licensing.
  • $1250    Help Network, Inc., grant provides rent and lodging assistance in Johnson County.
  • $1000    Humane Society of Johnson County grant helps purchase a stainless steel bath for the animal shelter.
  • $1500    Interfaith Service Network grant provides heating assistance for low income Johnson County residents.
  •   $500       Johnson County Conversation District grant purchases trees for Arbor Day programs.
  • $1500    Johnson County Development Foundation Cub Scout Pack 76 grant for restoration to the historic Bunch Walton American Legion Castle.
  • $1000    Johnson County Helping Hands grant to provide transportation assistance for out-of-town medical appointments for low income
  •  $700       Johnson County Historical Society, Inc. grant purchases 2 tables and 4 chairs for the research room.
  • $1000    Johnson County RFD #7 grant helps purchase a fire truck for the Lutherville-Holman Community.
  • $500       Johnson County Senior Activity Center grant purchases chairs and tables for the center.
  • $1000    Johnson County Senior Activity Center grant purchases meals on wheels for elderly homebound individuals who qualify.
  • $1000    Junior Auxiliary of Clarksville grant purchases school supplies for the Jr. Auxiliary School Store to distribute to children who qualify--last year more than 800 children were served.
  • $850       Kraus Middle School grant funds the summer science camp for 4th grade students, where         students experience hands-on science activities.  This summer’s camp will focus on the   environment.
  • $750       Lamar School District’s EAST Lab grant provides for video and digital camera upgrades.
  • $500       Mt. Airy Cemetery Assoc. grant purchases mature trees to replace those lost in a storm for the historic cemetery.
  • $1000    Mustard Seed Thrift Store grant purchases shelving, cap towers, a shoe rack and a rolling cart for the thrift store that serves low income people in Johnson County.  Although a ministry of First United Methodist Church (FUMC), the church does not benefit financially; profits of more than $200,000 support local nonprofits and programs.
  • $1000    Oark Public School grant supports their Arkansas Heritage Day, where students learn about the civil war and Arkansas History.
  • $2000    Oark Public School grant establishes a greenhouse at Oark Schools to support their agriculture greenhouse project.
  • $700       Ozark Rape Crisis, Inc. grant will purchase supplies and pay for printing for the Crisis Response   Project to train volunteers to assist victims of sexual and domestic violence in Johnson County.
  • $500       Petit Jean Youth Foundation, Inc. grant provides for mental health services and therapy through Community Services for youth under 10 years of age in Johnson County.
  • $610       Pregnancy Help Center, Inc., grant purchases car seats and “Earn While You Learn” literature for expectant mothers, who qualify for assistance.
  • $500       Stages Theatre for Youth at the UofO grant provides funding for the 2011 Season; 8 full-scale productions involving students from age 5 to 18 will be produced.
  • $1000     U of O Women’s Christmas Angels’ project grant provides funding to purchase clothing and toys for underprivileged children in Johnson County.
