Fighting Hunger in Faulkner County
In 2009, ARCF/Faulkner County established the Stop Hunger Endowment for Faulkner County. Through a community wide effort, featuring the involvement of schoolchildren throughout the county, the endowment has grown to almost $50,000. In 2010, the first grant from that endowment provided $2,500 to the Bethlehem House, the local homeless shelter. This year's $2,500 grant went to Soul Food Cafe Mission, as they continue to feed the hungry while rebuilding after a fire. Each fall, ARCF/Faulkner County continues the campaign to build the endowment, providing ever-growing grants each year to hunger agencies in Faulkner County… forever. And, in partnership with 501LIFE, sponsors the "Step Up to the Plate" campaign, educating Faulkner County schoolchildren on the issue of hunger and challenging them to collect food items for a hunger agency, and money to grow the endowment. The community is invited to participate! Checks can be made to Stop Hunger Endowment for Faulkner County, 1301 N. Museum Rd, Conway, AR 72032.
