We make grants solely for charitable causes. Registered 501(c)(3) nonprofits and other not-for-profit institutions such as schools, hospitals and government agencies are also eligible to receive funding. We occasionally fund other types of organizations if the proposed project has a clear charitable purpose. We don’t make grants to individuals, but we do offer a number of
scholarships for higher education.
Our grants fall into eight categories:
- Animal Welfare
- Arts and Humanities
- Community Development
- Education
- Environment
- Health
- Human Services
- Religion
Each of our competitive grant cycles has a specific focus and set of guidelines.
Most of our grants are “donor-advised,” which means that individuals, families or organizations establish endowments at ARCF and recommend which charities they’d like their endowments to benefit.
However, we do offer several competitive grant opportunities every year—any eligible program is eligible to apply.
Check out our grant guidelines section for more information.
