What is a Community Foundation?
A community foundation is a special kind of public charity created by and for the people of a specific geographic area. There are almost 700 community foundations across the U.S.
A Foundation For Good, For Arkansas, For Ever
Since Arkansas Community Foundation was founded in 1976, individuals, families and corporations across our state have been building the Foundation by making charitable contributions to ARCF. We, in turn, invest these resources and establish permanent endowment funds. Then, we return these resources to the community in the form of grants.
Because our endowment funds are permanently invested--meaning that we only use the investment dividends, not the principal, to make grants—they’ll continue to grow forever, providing an ongoing source of funding for the causes that are most important in Arkansas.
That’s why we say we’re “For Good, For Arkansas, For Ever.”
Arkansas Community Foundation meets National Standards for operational quality, donor service and accountability in the community foundation sector.
