Local Office Executive Directors

ARCF is hiring part-time executive directors for several of our local offices:
  • Sharp County Community Foundation
  • Fayetteville Area Community Foundation
This position is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the local office and maintaining communication with the ARCF central office and the local office advisory board. Job responsibilities include training local office board members, developing funds to increase the assets of the community foundation, maintaining official documents and records for the local office, preparing the local annual budget, public speaking about the community foundation, working with local board to make grants to area nonprofit organizations. 

Requires excellent communication and leadership skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office computer products, ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks, flexible schedule and ability to adjust activities as needed, moral and ethical conduct. 

Flexible schedule - typically an average of 20 hours per week with regularly scheduled office hours.

Staff Accountant

Must have accountingor business degree and at least three years experience in a similarposition.  Nonprofit experience preferred. Proficiency in MS Office andfinancial software required.  Must have excellent communication,organizational and computer skills and attention to details.  Dutiesinclude general and subsidiary ledgers, reporting, and schedules for audit andForm 990 tax returns.

Accounting Responsibilities

  • Process accounts and grants payable, daily gifts and receipts, payroll and general ledger entries through FIMS software, accurately and in a timely manner
  • Reconcile monthly bank and investment accounts 
  • Prepare internal and external reports for management and others 
  • Process and coordinate mailing of quarterly fund statements
  • Prepare schedules for the annual audit and tax returns 
  • Assist with preparation of annual operating budget 
  • Coordinate applications for employee benefits and corporate credit cards
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Assist with questions from other staff members
  • Respond to donor questions in a professional and timely manner
  • Assist with filing and records retention
  • Assist with answering ARCF phones when needed
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by CFOO and Finance Director

Qualifications and Skills

  • College degree in Accounting 
  • Minimum of three years experience in a similar position 
  • Strong experience with general ledger reconciliations 
  • Proficient with accounting software packages, particularly FIMS or other similar package 
  • Proficient with MS Excel and MS Word 
  • High level of discretion with confidential information 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional, organizational and multi-tasking skills 
  • Effective judgment and capability to work independently based on directives 
  • Ability to meet deadlines 
  • Must be customer service oriented 
  • Must be self motivated and have the ability to work with others in a team setting 
  • Experience with not- for-profit or fund accounting, auditing or tax return preparation a plus
