Our Finances and Governance

Investing in Arkansas’s Future

Arkansas Community Foundation is here for the long term. We were founded in 1976 with an initial investment of $258,000 from the Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation. Today, we manage assets of more than $150 million.

Through smart investing and the contributions of individuals, families, businesses and nonprofit organizations, we’ll continue to grow and provide an ongoing source of funding for the charitable causes that matter to Arkansans.

Our Assets and Grants, 2012 Fiscal Year

By the end of fiscal year 2012, total assets reached $156.6 million. During the year, we received $13.6 million in gifts and awarded $9.6 million in grants, up slightly from the previous year.

Pooled investments returned 0.3 percent, ahead of ARCF's composite index. The asset allocation at June 30, 2012 was comprised of 19 percent to U.S. equities, 25 percent to international equities, 10 percent to private equities, 15 percent to fixed income, 15 percent to hedge funds and 16 percent to real assets.
