Munro & Company owner Don Munro became an Arkansas Community Foundation donor in 1978, just two years after the Foundation was chartered. A transplant from New Hampshire who has established shoe manufacturing operations in several Arkansas cities, Munro has invested both time and resources to build philanthropy in his adopted state.
He realized the value of ARCF’s network of local offices soon after they were developed and helped to found Hot Springs Area Community Foundation (HSACF) in 1991. “Working in Hot Springs allowed us to come together, to become personal friends and to have unanimity,” he said. Munro is proud of the local causes HSACF supports, and he is appreciative of the leadership and focus provided by the statewide organization.
